We are also able to offer a trailer and caravan towing service.

About Us

Aberdeen Vehicle Transport was started by myself, a car enthusiast, with a love of driving. I have been driving for 34 years, during which time I have driven trucks, towed trailers and caravans. I was also a Department of Transport Approved driving instructor for 15 years. I have a clean driving licence, and intend to keep it that way. I have participated in motorsport and am currently building a Westfield Kit car. We pride ourselves on giving a quality service.

Equipment

Aberdeen Vehicle Transport (AVT) owns is a 2006 Ford Transit 90 T350 LWB, with a lightweight alloy beavertail body, in white with no sign writing. The unladen weight comes in at just under 2 tonnes giving a load capacity of around 1500kgs. The Transit is already equipped with a detachable towbar, ramps and a winch. We have additional ramps for vehicles with low ground clearance. The Gross Train Weight is 5750kgs. The vehicle has a tachograph fitted, (as is required by law when towing commercially with a Gross Train Weight above 3500kg). We have a Brian James A-Max T305 trailer meaning we have the capability to move 2 cars at a time. The trailer has been downrated from 2600kgs to 2250kg when towed by the transit meaning it is able to carry about 1650kg.

We have a Land Rover Discovery TD5 which when towing the trailer can carry 2100kg. This has had the tachograph fitted and is fully legal.

If your vehicle is heavier than this we may still be able to help. We can hire a larger capacity trailer as the Landrover Discovery TD5 has a towing capacity of 3500kg. This would be charged at cost.

For navigation we use TomTom Satellite Navigation which receives live traffic information allowing us to take the fastest route, and be able to give reasonably accurate arrival times.

Our vehicles are always fully serviced to manufacturers’ specification and service intervals.

Insurances

Aberdeen Vehicle Transport (AVT) has correctly insured it for Hire and Reward, has Goods in Transit insurance up to £350,000, as well as Public Liability Insurance with cover of £1,000,000. Certificates are available on request.

In the unlikely event of suffering a breakdown then we have full AA cover including Homestart, Breakdown and Relay.

If you are looking for a reliable, professional company to move your vehicle you have come to the right place. We transport vehicles both locally and UK wide. All vehicles are fully insured while in our care. We are happy to move Non-Runners with both Ford Transit Transporter and trailer being equipped with winches. We will keep you updated every step of the way.

Vintage cars, Restoration projects and Kit car builds which require special care are also catered for, securing any loose fittings and additional parts.

We are now able to offer a towing service for trailers and touring caravans.
